Executive Principal's Personal Assistant job summary

This is a truly exciting opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support the Executive Principal and Senior Leaders here at Colne Valley High School. This is an extremely broad-based role within a fast-paced environment that calls for high levels of responsibility and confidentiality. You will provide the Academy and Senior Leaders with effective day to day operational assistance as well as efficient admin and secretarial support.

Working closely to support the Executive Principal you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining a service that calls for excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be the ‘face’ of the Academy and therefore will be required to deliver a professional service to both internal and external customers and stakeholders. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly with diplomacy and discretion. You must enjoy working within a busy environment with the ability to work quickly and accurately at all times.

You will be required to take ownership of a variety of tasks and projects seeing them through to successful completion. The role will involve managing the Executive Principal’s diary, scheduling meetings, and ensuring timely preparation for all commitments. Acting as the first point of contact, the PA will handle confidential correspondence, screen and respond to enquiries with professionalism and discretion, and produce key school documents, reports, and communications. The role also includes coordinating and minuting meetings, designing and creating marketing materials, organising high-profile school events, and supporting the Senior Leadership Team with administrative tasks. An expertise with the Microsoft suite of applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher are an essential requirement for this role.

Colne Valley High School is one of the first purpose built comprehensive schools in England; founded in 1956 and is located in the Colne Valley, an area of outstanding beauty in the east flank of the Pennine Hills in West Yorkshire.
