Extended Care Playworker job summary

Key responsibilities:

·          Always ensure the safety and well-being of all the children at all times.

·          Supervise our children at After School Club, engaging with them in aspects of play and conversation

·          Plan and lead craft and cooking activities

·          Meet and greet parents

·          Develop quality play and activities, ensuring the engagement of all children, specific to their individual needs through a variety of play opportunities.

·          Implement playwork principles and the EYFS statutory framework, and general childcare requirements.

·          Monitor homework activities, where appropriate

·          Food service and preparation

·          Ensure understanding and appropriate implementation of all the School’s policies and procedures.

Ashley is a large primary school for children aged between 4 and 11 (Reception to Year 6). Since September 2021, we have had three classes in each year group, with 630 pupils in the school. We benefit from a huge site which includes a large playing field and a forest school area, where children experience outdoor learning such as gardening, bee-keeping and scientific study.
