Extended Day After School Club Assistant job summary
Monday to Friday, 3.15 pm - 6.00 pm 38 weeks per year.
Sun Hill Junior School is a two form entry, semi rural school, situated in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. We are a sponsored academy and part of The Perins Multi Academy Trust.
We are looking for an Afterschool Club Assistant on a 12 month fixed term contract to assist the After School Club Supervisor.
Although no two days will be the same, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing a balanced, stimulating, secure and safe play programme and creative activities suited to the age ranges, learning needs and abilities of the children using the service and engaging those children in the planned activities.
- Setting up play equipment, ensuring that it is in good and usable condition.
- Preparing rooms and resources as assigned by the Supervisor. Attending to daily duties and ensuring that play equipment and materials are cleared away and safely stored at the end of each session.
- Preparing food as required and assisting children with the selection and distribution of refreshments. Ensure food, hygiene and allergy procedures are followed.
- Escorting children to and from the school/agreed point/classrooms and ensuring safe delivery to the parents/named carers.
- Administer First Aid when required and be aware of the medical conditions of children in attendance. Record all instances, treatment and medication use on the appropriate system.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, qualified to at least Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English. You should have experience of caring for children of a wide age range and providing safe, creative play activities. A First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
