Extended School Assistant job summary
We are looking to appoint an extended school assistant worker for the breakfast club and the after school club and extended schools provision at Burnt Oak Junior School, which is part of The Pioneer Academy. This role is suitable for one person to work at both breakfast and after school club, or this could be two people covering the roles separately.
Key responsibilities include:
• To work under the guidance of the Breakfast Club Leader to provide childcare for pupils attending Breakfast Club.
• To work under the guidance of the After School Club Leader, Extended School Leader and Head Teacher to provide child care for pupils attending the After School Club.
• Working closely with the children providing encouragement, friendship and supervision. To assist the Manager and Head Teacher in offering the children a wide range of play activities and ensuring that the club offers the children a relaxed, informed and caring environment.
• Establishing good relationships with children – interacting positively with children and encouraging cooperation and mutual support.
• To be an exemplary role model for staff and pupils.
