EYFS and Primary Outdoor Education Teacher or Practitioner 0.6 Contract (flexible days) job summary

Can you help us maximise the potential of outdoor education? We want a skilled and knowledgeable teacher/practitioner to help us strengthen our outdoor education offer across the curriculum. Candidate will directly teach forest schools, fieldwork studies and other outdoor education approaches.

The governing body and leadership team of our ambitious and forward-thinking school are seeking a committed and talented outdoor education practitioner to support the school’s drive for excellent learning and teaching. Candidate will also have time to help improve the use of outdoor education across the school by working with colleagues on curriculum design and CPD.

Extensive induction and high quality CPD will be available for the successful candidate.

The successful applicant must have the following qualities;
● Experience of delivering high quality outdoor education.
● Recognised teaching qualification or accredited outdoor education practitioner qualification. Examples include level 3 (Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership) Forest School practitioner, APIOL Accreditation, Level 3 Award in co-ordinating an outdoor curriculum.
● Ability to develop good relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
● Positive behaviour management.
● Understanding of how outdoor learning can enhance learning and engagement across our curriculum.
● Knowledge, skills and experience to lead on forest schools and fieldwork.
● Ability to work constructively as part of a team.
● Willingness to show initiative
