Grade 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Salary: TA Grade 4 SCP 19-22 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Hours: Full-time 37 hours (permanent contract) Term time only.

The Coppice Primary School is looking to recruit an outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) under the direction of the Early Years Phase Leader. This is an exciting time to join The Coppice as it embarks on the next phase of its development under the new Headteacher and Leadership team.

The successful candidate will be expected to cover regular PPA and leadership release as well as run intervention groups and support classes across EYFS (and occasionally Year 1 if required). Illness and training cover will also be incorporated into the role.

We are looking for a confident and suitably qualified person to cover our teachers’ release time who:

● Has the skills to support and develop effective Early Years learning
● Is an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who will bring a sense of energy and passion to the role
● Can use their initiative to work independently and flexibly
● Loves working with Early Years children and forms strong relationships with both children and adults
● Can demonstrate and model excellent Early Years classroom practice in line with The Coppice philosophy
● Understands how children learn and how to facilitate good progress
● Is innovative and creative
● Manages behaviour in a positive, motivating way in line with The Coppice whole-school behaviour approach and policy
● Is able to work effectively in partnership with colleagues, parents and the wider community
● Is flexible and able to adapt to change at short notice

-Shortlisting will take place on Tuesday 2nd November 2021
-Interviews and observations will take place on Tuesday 9th November 2021

The interview process will involve a 60 minute whole class teaching observation (planned by you), followed by an interview with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Early Years Leader and a member of The Board of Trustees.

Start date: As soon as possible after the interview process and following completion of the DBS check and the
obtaining of references.
