What skills and experience we're looking for
Mottram St. Andrew Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an effective and enthusiastic teacher and leader to teach our Reception class and to lead our EYFS unit. The position is a key role in our Senior Leadership Team.
Our EYFS unit consists of:
- Reception class, of up to 26 children, staffed by the EYFS lead together with a full-time teaching assistant.
- Nursery class, of up to 16 children, staffed by two teaching assistants.
The EYFS lead has overall leadership and management responsibility for both the Nursery and Reception class, as they operate as an integrated unit.
It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of teaching within the EYFS. However, it is not necessary to already have experience of Nursery, if you have successful experience of teaching Reception.
The successful candidate will be an excellent early years teacher, able to create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment, while providing for the individual needs of all the children within the class. They will have the ability to lead and manage all aspects of the EYFS unit,while based as the Reception class teacher.
