EYFS Lead Teacher job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our teaching team. This is a full-time teaching and leadership role with Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) reflecting the strategic importance of leading Early Years across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and implement a high-quality EYFS curriculum in line with statutory requirements and school vision
  • Drive excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across Nursery and Reception
  • Monitor and evaluate provision to ensure consistently high standards and strong outcomes for all pupils
  • Support, coach and develop colleagues within the Early Years team
  • Work closely with senior leaders to contribute to whole-school improvement priorities
  • Champion inclusive practice, ensuring all children, including those with additional needs, achieve their full potential
  • Build strong relationships with families to support children’s development and wellbeing

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Significant experience teaching within EYFS, with a strong track record of impact on outcomes
  • Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
  • A deep understanding of child development and early learning pedagogy
  • Experience of leading curriculum development and assessment in EYFS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all learners
  • The ability to contribute positively to the ethos and values of Berry Brow Infant and Nursery School and Impact Multi Academy Trust
