EYFS Lead job summary

About the role: Hundred of Hoo Primary Academy is part of the Hundred of Hoo All-Through Academy on the Hoo Peninsula - situated very closely to the M2. Being an oversubscribed provision in a new building makes this a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our fantastic community.

From September 2022, we will be expanding our academy from one to two-form entry and are excitedly looking to recruit a EYFS Leader who will work with the Principal to oversee and develop the indoor learning space, outdoor learning space and by building a strong team to provide the absolute best of learning opportunities for our children. By joining the team in January 2022, this will allow you to familiarise yourself with our excellent IB PYP framework which we use as a vehicle to deliver the new Early Years Framework.

We have an expanse of space and exciting plans to develop both the designated outdoor area for EYFS, as well as the whole-school outdoor learning space.

There are significant CPD opportunities for staff members within LAT; the chance to work regularly with other EYFS leads across other schools in the Trust, as well as regularly liaising with our curriculum advisors, will ensure that you are able to apply and share your excellent knowledge and experience as well as receiving the support needed to truly flourish.

If this opportunity has piqued your interest and you are wondering whether Hundred of Hoo Primary Academy is the right place for you, I highly recommend arranging a tour so that you can see first-hand what makes this fantastic school the first choice for many parents in the area. If you would like to arrange a visit or discuss the role further, please contact Holly Neve (Recruitment Co-ordinator) on holly.neve@latrust.org.uk or 01634 412 263.

The basis of this role is permanent, MPS/UPS dependant on experience and also offers a TLR of £2,873 (TLR 2c).

Working with our academy: The Hundred of Hoo Academy is a unique all through academy with pupils from Reception up to Sixth Form. This exciting provision demonstrates the academy’s sense of ambition to serve the community where pupils’ educational journey represents a cradle to university principle. Being part of a provision that caters for such a wide range of age groups means that there are copious opportunities for both children and teachers to extend their experiences to grow and develop in many different ways. To enrich our curriculum, we take advantage of the resources and subject specific expertise we have in abundance in our secondary phase. This means our pupils benefit from subjects like MFL, PE and Performing Arts being taught by subject specialists. There are also plenty of opportunities for teachers to plan engaging sequences of lessons in collaboration with a range of subject specialists beyond the aforementioned subjects. In addition to this, the pupils and staff have access to resources that are unique to an all through provision. These include; science labs, teaching kitchens, drama studios and sport facilities.

We are delighted to announce that following our most recent Ofsted inspection in July 2018 the hard work and dedication of the academy was recognised and was judged as 'Good' with 'Outstanding' features in terms of our early years provision and effectiveness of leadership and management.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2021, our Trust will comprise 31 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 2,500 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North West Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region’s biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.

As part of Leigh Academies Trust you will have ample opportunity to collaborate with your peers both within the academy and across the whole Trust. This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together. You are supported to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation.

Our commitment to safeguarding: Leigh Academies Trust and all of our academies are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process across all academies and business units.  All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check.

Our commitment to equality and diversity: As a Trust we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals, we all bring something unique to the role regardless of any protected characteristics which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise.  We are committed to providing equality and fairness throughout our recruitment and employment practices and not to discriminate on any grounds.

Based on the quality and quantity of applications received, Leigh Academies Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy sooner than the specified closing date.  Applicants will be notified of this where possible.  Therefore, early applications are encouraged.
