  • Are you passionate about improving outcomes for all children?

  • Do you have a proven track record of success of supporting pupils with varying needs across school settings?

St Helen’s is a wonderfully inclusive school to work in. Based in the centre of the town we serve a rich and culturally diverse community that makes our school special in so many ways. We are always striving to improve the outcomes for our pupils and the school's motto is 'Striving for Excellence and Equality through Equity and Empowerment' an approach that Ofsted commented as being 'embedded throughout the schools culture'. Research underpins much of our work and we work collaboratively at school and Trust level to ensure all of our pupils have access to the best opportunities and teaching we can give. The staff work well together drawing upon each others strengths. Balancing wellbeing and workload is high on the schools agenda which is why we only employ those who fit the schools ethos and understand how to prioritise what is important.

We are seeking to employ a new Learning Support Assistant to work within our current EYFS setting providing whole class support and intervention support for those children who require a little more. We see EYFS as an important first step into school where children not only grown academically but also socially - this is the place where a love of learning starts and it is important that we get the right people for the job.

We would like to encourage applicants to apply who:

  • are efficient, conscientious and enthusiastic

  • have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and experience of ASD or EYFS Qualification

  • believe that all children have the potential to do well.

  • have a calm and organised approach to working

  • are capable of working with and taking advice from external agencies

  • are confident and assertive in dealing with challenging behaviours

  • are interested in helping children to develop positive learning behaviours

  • can adapt to duties and responsibilities as per the needs of the pupils in your care

  • good English and maths skills

We can offer you:

  • the chance to be part of a multi-culturally diverse and inclusive school

  • respectful, well-motivated and happy children.

  • an opportunity to work with a friendly and skilled team of support assistants, teachers and leaders

  • a network of support across fourteen ASSET schools and external providers

  • ongoing professional development to further flourish your career
