What skills and experience we're looking for

St Barnabas CofE Multi Academy Trust are looking to appoint two teaching assistants to join our Nursery team from September 2024 at St Petroc’s School, Bodmin. We have a nurturing and dynamic environment where children’s growth and development are our top priorities.

Our nursery is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education, fostering a love for learning, and supporting each child’s unique journey. We are now looking for two passionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join our friendly team. As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily activities and educational programs within our nursery. Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting the Nursery lead in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities. Supporting individual and group learning, ensuring that each child’s needs are met. - Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children. - Observing and recording children’s progress and providing feedback to parents and staff. - Helping with the preparation of materials and resources for activities. - Encouraging positive social interactions and development of communication skills.

Main Purpose of role

To take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of children in the Early Years setting; to support the curriculum and the school through the provision of a high level of assistance in the practical organisation of class activities, undertaking group work and ensuring the welfare and development of children.

Qualifications

GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths or NVQ level 2 or above (or equivalent qualification)

Qualified to EYFS level 3 or above (or equivalent qualification).

Knowledge and Experience

Experience of working with EYFS children. Knowledge of a range of issues relevant to education and child development
