EYFS Phase Lead job summary

Exciting opportunity to develop early years provision in West London

We are transforming lives through education. Join us.

We are looking to recruit a passionate, effective Early Years Practitioner. This is a permanent appointment open to teachers who would like to progress into a Phase Leader position or contribute their experience to a new setting. As Phase Leader, you would line manage our EYFS team, and teach in our reception class with dedicated release time for leadership responsibilities. If you have a passion for motivating and nurturing young learners and inspiring colleagues, we would love to hear from you.

Ark Swift lies at the heart of the Ed City development: This £150m investment will bring an education hub, new affordable homes, a modern office building, and improved community facilities to White City. Together, we are building a place that will make a difference to local people.

Due for completion in 2023, Ark Swift and Ark Burlington Danes Primary Academy will come together in the new school building on site from September 2023 and will form Ark White City Primary Academy. The new school will benefit from modern teaching environments, new outdoor learning spaces, improved IT, and sports and performing arts facilities.

Further details available here: https://www.edcity.org.uk/

As EYFS Phase Lead, you will have a real role to play in the continued development of the EYFS department across both Ark Swift and Ark Burlington Danes Academy as we prepare for the merger. Your early education expertise will be instrumental to ensure curriculum, resourcing and learning environments are well designed. In the year leading up to the merger you will have the opportunity to lead and support at Ark Burlington Danes, getting to know families and staff at both sites. It is expected that the equivalent of 1-day per week will be spent at Ark Burlington Danes during 2022-23.

However, disclosure of a criminal background will not necessarily debar you from employment - this will depend upon the nature of the offence(s) and when they occurred.

You will be helping to create an exciting school environment where pupils are able to achieve their very best, whilst having the support and guidance necessary to help you accomplish this.

We believe that school is not just about reading and writing in these early stages, it's also about growing as people. You will find there is a real ‘team effort’ ethos at the school, with the leadership team regularly covering classes to allow staff extra time for planning and assessment. We have fostered a supportive and collaborative infrastructure that will ensure your career progression is nurtured every step of the way. Hard work will never go unnoticed at Ark Swift as we have fostered a culture of praise amongst our staff.
