EYFS Phase Leader and Class Teacher job summary

St Barnabas C of E Primary School, part of the Fioretti Trust, is a popular and friendly Church of England school located in Erdington, Birmingham. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, driven and experienced teacher to join our thriving EYFS team and lead the EYFS phase. Please note that this position is not suitable for NQTs.

Main purpose of the job:
• To take specific responsibility and accountability for the day to day management and organisation of the Early Years Phase and be a proactive member of the SLT
• Be an excellent EYFS practioner
• Have an impact on educational progress across school
• Line manage and appraise identified staff
• Assist in the smooth running of the school at all times, including being responsible with the other TLR holders for the school in the absence of the headteacher or deputy headteacher

The successful candidate will:
• Support our Christian values and ethos
• Be an experienced, skilled teacher who can demonstrate a secure understanding of the national curriculum
• Have a passion for Early Years education
• Be up to date in knowing the best teaching strategies and pedagogical advances
• Will have a clear understanding of engaging children in their learning through explicit high expectations
• Will have a secure understanding of how assessment underpins the learning process
• Bring enthusiasm and energy to their role
• Have a flexible and positive approach to challenge and change
• Be able to communicate effectively with staff, governors, parents and children
• Be a positive role model in the school
