EYFS Phase Leader and EYFS Class Teacher job summary

The Board of Directors is seeking a talented individual to join our leadership team as a Phase Leader (PL) from Easter 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and outstanding EYFS teacher with a proven track record of impact on standards as a leader across the early years and primary range.   PLs will provide leadership oversight of all classes in a phase and take responsibility for the whole curriculum, standards and progress. Once appointed PLs may lead different phases from year to year. PLs will effectively lead a school within a school, working directly to the AHT or DHT and focusing on the standards and progress of each child in their phase. We want to hear from talented, ambitious Early Years teachers seeking opportunities to develop their coaching and leadership skills.

You will have a proven record of:

  Providing consistently excellent classroom provision resulting in high levels of pupil enjoyment and progress  

Dedication to leading and promoting high quality teaching and learning  

Identifying school improvement priorities and strategically planning for their development  

Contribution to sustained school improvement  

Leading by example, embedding excellent practice and being committed to meeting the learning needs of all children  

A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.

The ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.

Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.

Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.

Strong subject knowledge across the Early Years.

You will be:

An outstanding and experienced EYFS teacher with strong, up to date knowledge of the new EYFS framework and curriculum. A committed team player with excellent organisational and motivational skills.

  Someone able to demonstrate the ability to mentor and coach teachers, and support staff, drawing on their extensive knowledge of EYFS pedagogy and curriculum planning.          

Someone who is committed to Brookfields and demonstrates the values of the school daily.

Someone who is committed to SEND inclusive practice.

Someone who will take a leading role in building effective partnerships with parents.

Self-motivated, dynamic and has the ability to both challenge and support colleagues
