What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you looking for an opportunity where you can inspire and motivate very young children in their daily activities and make a positive difference to their formative years?
Are you a team player who thrives in a busy and friendly environment where no two days are ever the same?
Do you strive to make a difference in education and want an opportunity where you can progress to the next level of your career? If so, we want to hear from you.
The Governors of Childhaven Nursery School are looking to appoint an additional member of staff. We are looking for an EYFS Teacher to join our friendly team and help provide the best level of care and education to all our children. This post is particularly suitable for an ECT, but we welcome applications from EYFS teachers who are passionate about childhood and would love the opportunity to specialize in children’s earliest years.
We encourage applications from candidates who are interested in, and would thrive in working within nursery education; which offers reward, challenge and where no two days are the same. We are looking for someone with a genuine passion
for working with very young children.
A strong desire to nurture and support young children is essential and experience in supporting children with special educational needs would be advantageous. Training will also be provided as part of the role in the different approaches that we adopt, such as the Curiosity Approach. It is essential that you hold QTS and have recent and relevant experience in Early Years practice.
What the school offers its staff
About Childhaven
Here at Childhaven Community Nursery School we provide a vibrant, welcoming, and inspirational setting and serve the communities around the Scarborough Town. We are one of only 3 maintained nursery schools in North Yorkshire and we offer children a unique start to their education. Children aged between 2 and 4 play and learn together in our wonderful Victorian building and garden.
Our learning environment and education provision that is offered to our 76 children on roll is second to none and our teaching assistants play an important part in school life. Our team ethos helps make our school welcoming, calm and purposeful.
We have recently been designated a DfE Stronger Practice Hub and will be extending our expertise across the Yorkshire and Humber region. We are looking to strengthen our staff team as we provide an extended CPD offer to practitioners working with under 5’s across the region. We are continuously developing our specialist practice in supporting children with a wide range of additional needs and we pride ourselves in having the highest expectations for all children. Experience in this area will also be welcomed as our school continues to develop ‘nurture provision’ for children with a range of additional needs.
We can offer you
- A warm, happy school where we value everyone and have a philosophy of kindness and support for each other. Our approach is not always conventional but has the impact our children need and deserve
- Happy, enthusiastic and well-behaved children
- A school with exciting and attractive learning environments
