Are you looking for a role that will enable you to influence and give direction to the children in your classes? Do you want to work for a Trust that is transforming educational outcomes for students in some of the most deprived areas in the North of England? If so, this could be the role for you.

Salary: MPR / UPR (£32,916 to £51,048).

Your new school

Goldthorpe is a village within the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, in South Yorkshire. Historically within the West Riding of Yorkshire, in ancient times it was a small medieval farming village and is even recorded in the Domesday Book. In later times, Goldthorpe flourished as a coal mining community. Following the closure of the pits and the inevitable increase in levels of socio-economic deprivation that followed, Goldthorpe is now beginning to benefit from regeneration programmes and investment.

What the school offers its staff

Goldthorpe Primary Academy is proud to be at the heart of our local community. With a rich history dating back to 1903, we served generations of families on our original site for over a century before moving to our modern, purpose-built premises in September 2016. Today, we are home to 298 enthusiastic learners.

Our vision is simple yet powerful: to nurture the holistic potential of every child, empowering them to become successful, responsible, and active members of society.

At Goldthorpe Primary Academy, we are ambitious and aspirational in everything we do. We strive to provide an outstanding start to school life through high standards in literacy and numeracy, a broad and balanced curriculum, and a happy, safe, and supportive environment. Our academy is committed to meeting the needs of every child and their family, fostering strong relationships within the community.

We are exceptionally proud of our recent Ofsted judgements, which recognised that“children thrive at school and live and breathe the school values.”Inspectors also praised our strong culture of high expectations and personal development, noting that pupils feel safe, enjoy learning, and develop into respectful, responsible citizens.
