EYFS Teaching Assistant job summary
About us and the role
We are looking for an innovative, inspirational Teaching Assistant with experience of working in the EYFS who puts the welfare and progress of children at the centre of everything.
You will be required to carry out general TA duties such as supervision of pupils, undertaking playtime and lunchtime duty as well as delivering extra-curricular clubs to support the school’s curriculum offer. You will be working with individuals, groups, or the whole class in lessons. This post will suit a person who is prepared to throw themselves into our busy school community with commitment and enthusiasm.
The successful candidate will be flexible, able to work on their own initiative, and keen for challenges. As the role entails assisting with the supervision of children, reliability and good timekeeping are essential. There is a requirement to attend training, after-school activities, and other events as requested.

What will you do?
- To provide general support to the class teacher in the management and organisation of the pupil and the classroom.
- To provide support in the delivery of the EYFS framework.
- To observe, monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring strategies determined by the teacher.
- To provide support for pupils’ emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour in line with school policy.
- To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.

What are we looking for?
- Good working knowledge of EYFS Framework
- Experience of working with Reception and/or Pre-school aged pupils within a learning environment
- An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
- Ability to observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on pupils progress
- Experience of working with children with additional learning needs

Avanti Fields School is a new all-through school which welcomed the first intake of Year 7 students in September 2018. The school is rapidly expanding, and will grow year by year to a full cohort of 1,320. This is an exciting time to join the school as it moves into its new state of the arts building and continues its journey to outstanding.
