What will you do?

  • To provide direct support to a pupil with vision impairment in lessons and facilitate independent learning.
  • To learn to produce curriculum resources in a format accessible to the pupil with a vision impairment and appropriate to their individual needs e.g. in Braille, modified large print, audio, tactile, concrete materials/3 dimensional models.
  • To receive training in modification of learning materials/experiences and use of specialist equipment/software.
  • To support the pupil in their use of specialist equipment.
  • To contribute to the monitoring and recording of the pupil’s progress.
  • To liaise with School Staff and other professionals regarding learning and assessment materials for the pupil with vision impairment.
  • To attend relevant specialist Vision Impairment training.

What are we looking for?

  • You will need experience of EYFS.
  • You will have good Microsoft ICT skills.
  • You will have experience of supporting pupils in a learning situation.
  • You will have good interpersonal skills with both adults and pupils.
  • You will have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • You will need to be able to problem solve, prioritise workload and work within a team.
  • You will need to be able to keep accurate records.

Avanti Meadows opened in September 2021 and is the first of three brand-new schools planned for the new all-through Learning Village in Bishop’s Stortford North. Our pupil numbers are steadily increasing, and at full capacity, Avanti Meadows will be a 3-form entry primary school, providing parents and pupils with the highest standards of education and pastoral care.
