What skills and experience we're looking for

From September 2024, we are looking for an excellent Early Years Practitioner (Level 3) to work with our youngest children in our Nursery class. Our Nursery runs on Wednesday afternoon and all-day Thursday and Friday. It is led by an experienced teacher and is part of the EYFS phase in our school. The Nursery and Reception teams work closely together and Nursery children are involved in wider school life. The post would be for 3 days per week and would be suitable for someone with experience in Early Years and a passion for working creatively and responsively with young children.
We are looking for a member of staff who has:
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
- A relevant Level 3 qualification
- Enthusiasm for creative learning activities
- Experience of developing personalised learning opportunities to meet specific needs
- Experience of working with a range of SEND needs
- Experience of delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to support key skills such as communication and social interaction
- Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and other related documents such as ‘Development Matters’
- The ability to work well with other professionals/outside agencies to implement/deliver/assess recommended programmes of work
- Experience and skills in working closely and supportively with parents/ carers
- The highest expectations of themselves and their pupils
- Excellent interpersonal and organisation skills
- • Experience of working proactively, with empathy, in teams
- • Flexibility, sense of humour and a ‘can do’ attitude
