EYFS Teaching Assistant - Nursery EYP job summary

We are looking to appoint a full time Early Years Teaching Assistant to work within our school's fantastic pre-school Nursery. This post will initially be a fixed term 1 year contract to cover a Maternity post but is likely to be made permanent at the end of the contract due to our school's growth. We are looking for someone caring, enthusiastic and committed to the learning, development and wellbeing of all pupils.

We offer free breakfast club if you need it for your own child.

ABOUT US

Wantage Primary Academy is a new school which opened in September 2020 with just a few small classes. We now have provision for children Nursery - Year 4. Our Nursery class (rising threes, 3 and 4 year olds) are taught by a trained EY class teacher who oversees planning, assessment and training for our Early Years practitioners. Our school will eventually grow to a 2-form entry primary school. This is a golden opportunity to help shape and be part of outstanding provision whilst we are still growing.

The hours for this post are 7:30am – 3:30pm and the post will commence on 1st September 2022. The post will include working alongside another colleague to supervise our breakfast club for one hour in the morning and then working in our Nursery from 8:40am – 3:30pm each day.

The successful candidates will be:

Experienced in working with children, preferably in a Teaching Assistant, nursery nurse or similar role.

Willing to work as part of a team and in partnership with our Nursery teacher and wider EYFS team.

Experienced in supporting pupils with a range of needs and able to demonstrate understanding towards them. (For example: learning difficulties, autism, speech and language difficulties).
