About us and the role We are looking for two (part-time) innovative, inspirational experienced EYFS Teaching Assistants who put children's learning at the centre of everything they do and are able to support our pupils in reaching their full potential to job share this important role within Avanti Meadows School. Avanti Meadows opened in September 2021 and is the first of three brand-new schools planned for the new all-through Learning Village in Bishop’s Stortford North. Our pupil numbers are steadily increasing, and at full capacity, Avanti Meadows will be a 3-form entry primary school, providing parents and pupils with the highest standards of education and pastoral care. The site for Avanti Meadows is a brand-new building with contemporary and first-class facilities, which will make for a unique learning experience. Since our first school opened in 2008, Avanti Schools Trust has grown in a considered and gradual way. Now, we are a family of 10 schools across the UK, serving over 4,500 children and young people and 450 staff. We are looking for an innovative, inspirational experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant who put children's learning at the centre of everything they do and are able to support our pupils in reaching their full potential. To provide direct support to a pupil with vision impairment in lessons and facilitate independent learning. To learn to produce curriculum resources in a format accessible to the pupil with a vision impairment and appropriate to their individual needs e.g. in Braille, modified large print, audio, tactile, concrete materials/3 dimensional models. To receive training in modification of learning materials/experiences and use of specialist equipment/software. To support the pupil in their use of specialist equipment. To contribute to the monitoring and recording of the pupil’s progress. To liaise with School Staff and other professionals regarding learning and assessment materials for the pupil with vision impairment. To attend relevant specialist Vision Impairment training. You will have experience of supporting pupils in a learning situation. You will have good interpersonal skills with both adults and pupils. You will have good verbal and written communication skills. You will need to be able to problem solve, prioritise workload and work within a team. You will need to be able to keep accurate records. Experience of supporting the delivery of the Secondary curriculum and/or SEND in an educational setting is desirable.
