Welcome to our school,
Broomfield SILC is a generic special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years with 4 sites: our main site and 3 partnership sites at Windmill Primary, Rodillian Secondary and Future Steps Hub at the White Rose business park. The SILC is based in the South of Leeds and caters for a wide range of needs from moderate learning difficulties; severe learning difficulties; complex and multiple learning needs; Autism and social and emotional and mental health needs. Some students have additional needs – physical; medical; speech and language; visual, hearing or sensory impairment. We are a very popular choice for parents and carers and currently have 228 pupils on roll.
Broomfield secured a ‘Good’ Ofsted in March 2023 where inspectors commented that leaders have ‘high ambitions’ and ‘high aspirations for all pupils’ and that ‘staff are proud to work in our school’. I am very proud of our school community where staff are committed to supporting young people to fulfil their potential and prepare them fully for their future, particularly focusing on communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
We are looking for a Facilities Manager who will work closely with the Business Manager and SLT to be responsible for site management and health & safety.
We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible Facilities Manager who has the passion and drive to ensure the environment is suitable for our young people and stake holders to thrive.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and able to manage and prioritise their own workload; they will be responsible for maintaining our school site to a high standard and manage all works across site all- year round.
Our SILC consists of Broomfield main site and two mainstream partnership sites, based at Windmill Music federation and Rodillian Academy.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for all stakeholders in relation to premises and H&S issues therefore, we require someone who has a friendly, professional, calm and courteous manner with fantastic communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to working in an environment which has the progress, safety and wellbeing of pupils at its core is essential.

The successful candidate will:

Prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines

Many pupils are based on our main Broomfield site and in addition some within our mainstream partnership sites - Windmill Music Federation and Rodillian Academy, where opportunities for mainstream inclusion are maximised, if appropriate.
