What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Co-op Academy Swinton team as a Facilities Manager.

As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the building’s condition and ensuring it remains a safe, secure and welcoming environment for all.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily site operations, managing contractors and maintenance, and working with the Finance Manager to seek guidance and control of purchasing and servicing arrangements including quotations, tenders and orders, and overseeing key contracts such as cleaning, grounds maintenance and catering.

You will also be responsible for security of the premises, opening and closing, and ensuring all health and safety is compliant in accordance with legislation and planning for ongoing development of our academy’s facilities.

You will also work closely with the Principal, wider Senior Leadership Team and your own Facilities team to ensure the smooth running and safe operation of the academy day to day and in the long-term future. You will have a strong background in managing buildings, ideally within an educational or public sector environment, as well as managing a team.

Successful candidates will be proactive, well organised and passionate about creating the best possible environment for our staff and students.Experience of working in facilities management and facilities maintenance is essential. It is desirable for you to have the relevant Health & Safety qualification but this will be discussed at interview if you are selected.
