Changing Lives Learning Trust are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, proactive and technically minded, practical person with good computer skills who is a conscientious and flexible individual to undertake a range of site supervision and statutory maintenance duties, both within the academy building and in our grounds.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:


To be responsible for the effective supervision, security and maintenance tasks at West Lakes Academy, Arlecdon, St Bees and Thornhill Primary School

Line management of our facilities staff

To ensure that routine procedures for both statutory requirements and general maintenance and servicing are carried out

Act as a main key holder for the sites

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience in a similar role of estates and or buildings maintenance

Has experience of Health and Safety procedures

Has the ability to manage their time effectively and demonstrates a flexible proactive approach

Has the ability to carry out first line repairs and maintenance

Is flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude

School experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will:

Be committed to supporting and enhancing the work of the academy;

Quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with colleagues and all stakeholders;

Be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies;

Be able to multi-task and re-prioritise workloads to meet the needs of the academy.

The role will be predominately based at West Lakes Academy but you will need to travel to our local primary schools in the west of the County. The Trust is committed to flexible working arrangements provided both the needs and objectives of both the individual and the Trust can be met.
