We are looking to appoint a reliable, proactive, hardworking Facilities Supervisor (Caretaker) to join us at St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy. This role is essential in ensuring our school provides a clean, safe and well-maintained environment for students, staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, show excellent attention to detail, and be able to respond positively to the varied needs of a busy school site.

The school site is open from 6am to 7pm each day. The hours of work will usually be from 2.30pm to 7pm each day however we require someone who is willing to be flexible and able to support if there are after school events or staff absence in the team.

You will work with the Facilities team to provide a professional and efficient caretaking service. The job is varied and includes premises related functions such as day-to-day maintenance of the school building and grounds, ensuring the premises are safe and secure, assisting with waste management, cleaning, deliveries, ensuring health and safety is adhered to and liaising with external contractors.

The successful candidate will have a flexible approach to work and possess the relevant skills and knowledge to become part of the team dealing with all site-related maintenance. St Benet Biscop is a popular and oversubscribed school which is highly regarded within the community and we offer a high-quality education in a Catholic / Christian environment. St Benet Biscop is part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust; a large trust consisting of 39 schools. The post holder will be based at St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy but may be expected to attend off site meetings and training where required. The school has good public transport links into Newcastle Upon Tyne and the surrounding local area.
