What skills and experience we're looking for

We want to recruit an enthusiastic and confident Faculty Assistant to join us from September 2023. Working as part of the DT and Art faculty team, the role involves covering lessons for short term teacher absences in your faculty and other subject areas. The role also provides in and out of class support to students as well as providing administrative support for teachers in your faculty.

Candidates must be literate, numerate and a competent user of IT, with the skill to support students across all age groups in secondary education. We welcome and support applications from those interested in looking to start a career in teaching.

Experience in this area isn’t necessary but a keenness to develop your skills and knowledge of working with young people is essential. A full induction package, ongoing training and development will be provided. The school is extremely supportive of staff considering progressing into teaching and can actively guide people into teacher training.

You would be expected to work Monday to Friday (term time only), 8.40 to 3.10 including an unpaid 30 minute break. There are 5 teacher INSET days that you would not be expected to attend. The post is term time only.
