What skills and experience we're looking for
Oathall is seeking to recruit Faculty Assistants / Cover Supervisors to join our team. We currently have vacancies in the following subject areas: Maths, Art & DT and English.
The role involves in-class supervision of students, covering for teacher absences across all subject areas. You would also be used to provide support to students in and out of lessons as directed, as well as providing administrative support for teachers across all faculties.
Our normal contractual hours for this post are 30 hours per week but we are prepared to offer contracts of 35 hours per week with the additional hour per day being used to provide help with after school student activities or faculty administrative support.

Candidates must be literate, numerate and a competent user of IT, with the skill to support students across all age groups in secondary education. We offer a comprehensive training package including an induction programme. We welcome and support applications from those interested in looking to start a career in teaching.
Experience in this area isn’t necessary but a keenness to develop your skills and knowledge of working with young people is essential. A full induction package, ongoing training and development will be provided. The school is extremely supportive of staff considering progressing into teaching and can actively guide people into teacher training.

You would be expected to work Monday to Friday, 8.40am - 3.10pm or 8.40am - 4.10pm depending on contract hours. This includes an unpaid 30 minute break. We would also be prepared to consider part time days (but not hours). There are 5 teacher INSET days that you would not be expected to attend. The post is term time only.
