Faculty Coordinator (Head of English and Media Studies) job summary
We are seeking an outstanding, experienced, qualified teacher to work within our high performing academy as Faculty Coordinator (Head of English and Media).
Your opportunity
English is taught across all Key Stages and is a core subject, for all students, at Key Stages 3 and 4. English Literature is taught at AS and at A2 level at Key Stage 5. The department, as a core subject, is vital to the achievement of the Academy and, as such, is promoted as being of high importance to the students. There is a range of strategies in place which are focused on supporting students in increasing their own skills, knowledge and awareness of the English curriculum. Students’ progress and achievements are valued greatly. The staff are encouraged to use and develop a wide range of strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the area.
You will have a wealth of opportunities to develop as a leader with the Harris Federation. We can offer you a range of bespoke courses and qualifications through our Teaching School, including our Aspiring Leaders NPQH for aspiring principals.
