What skills and experience we're looking for

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and ambitious Faculty Leader to join and lead our established PE team. You will be a highly skilled and enthusiastic teacher, with the potential to move into a Senior Leadership role in the future, who can take initiative and motivate others.

The Faculty Leader role is part of a wider leadership structure that moves the school forward. Faculty Leaders are part of our extended whole school leadership team working on faculty and whole school initiatives. Our recent Ofsted inspection (Jan 24) graded leadership as outstanding, and our middle leaders play a pivotal role in this achievement. As a Faculty Leader you will be supported by a second in faculty who leads the Childcare and Health & Social Care courses.

The PE Faculty offers Child Care, Health & Social Care and Sports Studies at KS4.

There has never been a more exciting time to join our school community. It is an unprecedented opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our young students and work with us on our journey to success supported by The Sigma Trust, a large and local trust of schools. If you are a dynamic qualified teacher, who is looking for a new challenge and would like to work in an exciting, supportive and collaborative environment, and you feel that you have the enthusiasm and commitment required to join our school, we look forward to receiving your application.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring a clear shared vision for the development of outstanding teaching and learning and a culture of high expectations within the Faculty.
  • Raising standards across the Faculty and the School.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Faculty in all areas including: teaching and learning, behaviour for learning, resources, learning environment, performance management, data and intervention.
  • All academic provision and support to students in the Faculty.
  • Ensuring a high-quality curriculum across the Faculty.
  • Ensuring consistency of school policies within Faculty.

We're looking for you if you have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Ability to teach lessons that challenge, motivate and inspire all students.
  • A passion for teaching and making a real difference to young people
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

(The full details can be found in the attached Job Outline and Person Specification).
