Family Liaison Officer job summary
John Wycliffe Primary School & Claybrooke Primary School , on behalf of Inspiring Primaries Academies Trust (IPAT), are looking to recruit a Family Liaison Officer (Min 30 hrs) to work across the two schools. Initially the contract is a fixed term contract (until August 2025).
We are looking for:
A practitioner who is eager for a new challenge and a thirst to upskill their own knowledge and gain greater experience in a fulfilling role.
Someone who can establish and maintain good relationships with parents/carers and pupils within the schools developing and enhancing parental/carer engagement with the relevant school.
Someone who can work with families to develop parenting skills and promote children’s wellbeing, emotional and social development.
Someone who can encourage parental/carer involvement in the schools and their activities, providing a link between home and school.
On receipt of referrals of children experiencing difficulties, someone who can talk with children and liaise with families to reflect the concerns of the child.
Someone who can work with parents/carers to identify when their children are experiencing problems or barriers to learning, ascertain the probable causes and suggest/assist in the implementation of plans/action to resolve the situation.
Someone who can work closely with school staff, the child and the family, utilising the Early Help process where appropriate.
Someone who can proactively develop links with key contacts such as local community groups, early help and other agencies and encourage participation from vulnerable children and families.
Someone who can keep up to date on the range of agencies working locally in order to maintain knowledge of services that parents/carers might be signposted to.
