What skills and experience we're looking for
Trinity School is looking for an experienced Family Support Lead who will working closely with SEND families, parents and carers of pupils with significant learning difficulties and disabilities attending Trinity School, ensuring that pupils have full access to educational opportunities, overcome barriers to learning and can achieve their full potential in both the home and school setting.
The main activities include:
- To develop parent / carer networks and work directly with parents / carers to enable them to support their children at home and in the community.
- To support the well-being of parents and carers by offering opportunities to access support, information or activities - or by signposting them to these within the local community.
- To provide specific and bespoke training related to evidence-based interventions to parents and carers.
- The Family Support Lead will work to teach families, who are experiencing difficulties with their child’s behaviour, communication or independence, the key pedagogical strategies used by school. They will work with families in the context of the home to ensure continuity of approach. They may also need to draw on the support and expertise of other colleagues and professionals.
