Monday to Thursday, 08:00am - 16:00pm and Friday 08:00am - 15:30pm

Braunstone Community Primary School are looking to appoint someone to provide support for vulnerable pupils referred by the SENCo and EPIC team in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide support for pupils with behavioural, social, emotional and / or psychological difficulties that affect or are likely to affect, learning and engagement with education at schools within the Discovery Schools Academies Trust group and beyond.
  • To communicate and work with pupil parents and carers to help them remove or reduce barriers to pupil achievement and to keep them informed, as appropriate, for the duration of sessions.
  • To develop targets and plans to help meet pupil personal needs and to assist in the implementation and evaluation of targets and plans.
  • To promote the development of pupil’s self-reliance, self-esteem and emotional resilience.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • BTEC Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Educational Studies or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience as a level 3 Teaching Assistant or above in an educational setting.
  • Effective working with Primary aged children/young people and their families
  • Contributing to, implementing and reporting on Behaviour Plans, Individual Target Plans or IEP’s
  • Recent and appropriate experience of enabling families/carers to access support agencies
