We have an exciting opportunity at our Chestnut Centre in Brixham for an enthusiastic and assertive Family Support Worker to join our team. Chestnut provides support to children at Key Stage 1 and 2 who are experiencing difficulties in maintaining a placement in mainstream school as a result of their social, emotional or behavioral needs. The successful candidate will deliver support to our young people and their families, providing flexible and responsive assistance in relation to Educational, Health and Social support available to families with SEN needs.

The ideal candidate will have

The working day is from 8.55am - 3.40pm. This role is for 18 hours a week (3 days per week. Days to be confirmed at interview), and 43 weeks per year (Term time plus a total of 12 additional days during school holidays). The actual starting salary for this working pattern is £12,190 per year and will be paid evenly over 12 months.

The interview will be a panel interview along with a written task and may include other tasks on the day.

The highly skilled College team provide a holistic programme of study for our young people which utilised challenging, relevant and fun learning experiences whilst supporting individual progression and preparation for adulthood.

At Mayfield Chestnut in Brixham we have 32 Primary aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties arranged in 6 classes. Our highly skilled staff support our pupils to maintain academic progress whilst securing attachment and promoting resilience and wellbeing through playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy.
