Family Support Worker job summary
Springfield Infant School and Nursery are looking for a caring, dedicated person to assist in improving achievement by working in partnership with families, parents, carers and children in a school context to enable children to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning and participation.
Working directly with our families, sometimes in their own home, you will be their first point of contact for non-judgemental support and practical advice with regard to parenting, education, attendance, behaviour, health and finance.
You will have the skills and confidence to work on your own initiative and will be able to lead short, early interventions and groups, such as Triple P, VIG and Thrive to empower both children and families to get the most out of school and strive for excellence.
You will also have knowledge of, and relationships with, a variety of other external services and providers in order to signpost families for longer term support.
If you have a belief in the ability of all students to achieve and be successful, a proven record in supporting children and families and a vision of what first class family support looks like then we have an exciting opportunity for you.
We strongly encourage you to visit our school to find out more. Alternatively, please call and ask to speak to the headteacher regarding the advertisement who will pleased to answer any questions you may have

Springfield Infants is a unique, exciting place to work. Within it's urban setting you will find many hidden gems; a dedicated, talented team of staff; enthusiastic, happy children and at the heart of our grounds, an oasis of wildlife.
Visitors to our school always comment on the 'feeling' they get as they look around, a distinctive atmosphere which I believe is a special blend of high quality learning experiences, care for every individual and a little Springfield 'Magic' which ensures the high standards of behaviour, independence and confidence that each and every one of our 310 children aged 7 or under demonstrates.
As Head Teacher I have the pleasure and absolute privilege of working in this atmosphere every single day and I hope you will want to join us and become part of a child's first steps on their educational journey.
