We are recruiting a Family Support Worker to support the emotional and social wellbeing of our pupils. We are looking for someone who can build trusting relationships with both parents and pupils to help engage them with their education. You will be part of a team that supports our most vulnerable pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with teachers to oversee academic progress, monitor behaviour and attendance and help pupils with particular challenges that create barriers to their learning and wellbeing.
The successful applicant will have experience working with families, vulnerable people or children, supporting them with social, emotional, and mental health needs. A knowledge and understanding of local resources and community and statutory services, including Mental Health Teams, Social Services, Health, CAMHS, and school and voluntary services would be useful as would an understanding of the Early Help Process.
St Marychurch CofE Primary and Nursery School is led by a newly appointed Headteacher, Mrs Bruten. Children are encouraged and given opportunities to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally, where love for our pupils and their families is a core value. We aim to show this in everything that we do in our school: in our lives as education professionals; in our relationships with the children and their families; and in our determination to provide the best learning and pastoral experiences for all children.
In joining us, you will be part of a friendly and welcoming staff team and a supportive community. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in an environment that has a strong focus on support and CPD whatever career stage you are at.
When completing an application please ensure you address all aspects of the person specification and list any additional strengths.
Tours of the school will take place on request. Please contact the school office on 01803 329070 to book. Please visit Vacancies | St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust (stchristophersmat.org) for an application form. Your completed application form should be returned by email to HR@stcmat.org by 9.00am on Monday 24th June 2024 Interviews will be held on Monday 1st July 2024.
