Family Worker job summary
We are seeking to appoint a part time Family Worker.
Permanent to start ASAP.
Term time only plus 3 training days.
22.5 hours per week: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 08:30am-04:30pm.
About this Role:
We are looking to appoint a Family Worker, who can positively engage parents/carers, children and their families in children’s learning and development so that, in partnership with other agencies the school effectively meets the needs of children and young people. To work closely with parents and families, school staff and outside agencies such as social care, to ensure the safety and well-being of children and to promote safeguarding practices and awareness undertaking referrals as necessary. Undertake structured assessment of the needs of children and young people with their parents, through school-based meetings and home visiting, to identify resources and support needed. This will entail working with individual families and making referrals to other agencies with whom co-working arrangements may be appropriate, e.g. Children and Family Services, Education Welfare, CAMHS, Health Visitors, Safer Luton Partnership.
To promote good attendance for all pupils and plan appropriate strategies to ensure that this is achieved.
