What skills and experience we're looking for

The newly created Community of Saints Church of England Federation is looking to recruit a reflective, dynamic individual to join us.

The successful person will be highly organised and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others. That person:

  • Will have an excellent understanding of the principles of inclusive teaching.
  • Will understand their statutory duties in relation to SEND and equality.
  • Will be strong in the use of data to track progress and identify needs.
  • Will understand the importance of early identification of pupils with additional needs.
  • Will understand a range of strategies and research-based interventions to support staff to meet the needs of pupils.
  • Understand the importance of developing positive working relationships with all stakeholders, including parents and outside agencies.

The Governors of the newly created Community of Saints Church of England Federation are looking to recruit a creative and forward-thinking SENCO with a proven track record of success to help drive our organisation forward. This is a varied role and the successful candidate will be involved in shaping and leading the provision for children with special educational needs across the federation. The Community of Saints C of E Federation currently consists of two single form primary schools not far from Manchester City Centre, St James’ C of E (Rusholme) and St Philip’s C of E (Hulme), and the successful candidate will need the flexibility to be able to embrace the requirement to work at both sites.
