Female PE/Dance teacher job summary
We are looking for a talented and effective female PE/Dance teacher who is passionate about teaching girls’ PE and/or dance, keen to be part of a dedicated team and will want to inspire, enthuse and engage students every lesson. You will be responsible for leading and managing, planning and delivering high quality lessons and achieving excellent results for your students, instilling in them a love for the subject and a desire to learn. As well as being an excellent subject teacher, the successful applicant will be able to articulate their passion for PE and/or dance and will be eager to contribute to the extra curricular work of the department and wider life of the academy.
Please note it is an essential criteria of the role to appoint a female teacher for this post. Having regard to the nature of the role and the work required, there is a genuine occupational requirement to limit applications for this role to female only, due to the current ratio of male to female staff members within the PE department and the requirement for the successful candidate to be of the same sex as female students, when supervising them within the academy changing rooms. The Trust is satisfied that this requirement is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and the Equality and Human Rights Commission Code.
Applications are welcome from experienced and early career teachers able to teach throughout the age and ability range. The academy offers an excellent induction for ECTs. We actively promote continuing professional development and encourage staff to pursue all enhancement programmes.
Commitment to safeguarding
The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of
children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
