Finance Administrator

Acer Trust

Acer Trust, an Oxfordshire multi-academy trust, has an exciting new opportunity arising in our Hub Finance Team, supporting three of our schools; Matthew Arnold School, Wood Green School and Botley Primary School in West Oxford. As part of our West Hub team, these roles will be key in delivering a high-quality finance support service to our schools, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial processing so that our schools can make the best possible use of the funds available to them.

This is a permanent contract and expected to start from Sept 2025. These roles would suit someone with strong numeracy skills, excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills wishing to develop a career in finance within a supportive and fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, focussed and diligent, ready to learn and with a ‘can do’ attitude. Prior experience in a financial role and/or relevant qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential; we would welcome candidates interested in gaining their qualifications, and are happy to support this through Apprenticeship Levy funding and study leave. You will also benefit from support and coaching from the Hub Finance Manager to further develop your skills.

If you're seeking a dynamic and rewarding role with opportunities to grow your career in finance, this could be the perfect fit for you! This position is for 14 hours per week and is term-time only (39 weeks). The salary ranges from £8,052.37 to £8310.28 (actual salary at Grade 5), and we encourage you to specify your preferred working hours in your application. Along with a supportive and vibrant work environment, career development opportunities, and a strong sense of community, you'll also have the chance to join one of the country's top pension schemes.

To set up an informal discussion about the role with Laura Morris, Hub Finance Manager, please email lmorris@acertrust.org.uk . For more details, please see attached Job description and person specifications.

Please note that, for safeguarding reasons, this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and other safeguarding procedures.

The closing date for applications is 9am Monday, 14 July and interviews will be held w/c 14 July. However, we may interview strong candidates sooner, so early applications are encouraged.

Commitment to safeguarding

The Acer Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism. All staff are expected to share this commitment.
