Finance and Administration Manager job summary

St Mary’s C of E Primary is a Multi-faith, multi-cultural, OFSTED rated good school located in Handsworth, Birmingham. As a church school our core Christian values are at the heart of everything that we do. In keeping with our chosen scripture Jeremiah 29:11.

Due to the retirement of our long standing, hardworking and highly skilled office manager we are looking to recruit a Finance/Administration Manager ASAP. The new member of staff will be welcomed into the role by a supportive, highly efficient team.

You will be responsible for overseeing the daily administration of the school office. You will also be responsible for all administrative and organisational processes within the school. In addition, there will be financial support, maintaining confidentiality at all times. You will assist with the planning and development of support services, in conjunction with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working in school office.
  • Have experience of a wide range of administrative systems.
  • Have experience of Microsoft systems.
  • Experience of using database applications.
  • Work in partnership with senior leaders.
  • Have exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • Have knowledge of school based MIS systems such as SIMS
  • Have knowledge of finance procedures and raising orders/ inputting of supplier invoices
  • Be proactive in accessing update training, reading, policy etc
  • Be friendly, flexible, professional and hardworking
  • Experience of safer recruitment procedures
