What skills and experience we're looking for

The Kemnal Academies Trust is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the South & East of England with 45 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT Family. Our ultimate aim is to ensure we drive educational standards through the provision of outstanding teaching, leadership and learning for all.

A community of learners who share the mindset of success and are driven by the prospect of opportunity for all. An environment of aspiration, respect and openness, enabling staff and students to thrive.

Within the #oneTKATfamily, the shared and common purpose is to work together as a community of schools to ensure that every child, whatever their background, receives a high quality education.

TKAT is committed to providing outstanding teaching and learning to enable all pupils to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.

The TKAT Values are: Shared Voice, Shared Belief and Shared Success.

As the Finance Assistant (Financial Accounts), you’ll get as excited about internal systems and controls as we do! Your professional rigour and proactive aptitude will be absolutely vital for supporting both our internal and external audit functions across the Trust.

You’ll be a key player within our dedicated financial accounts team and will actively support our academies in meeting both their internal compliance and external statutory reporting obligations.

What the school offers its staff

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive a significant number of applications.

If you have not had any communication within 10 days of the closing date please take this as confirmation that on this occasion your application has not been successful.

Our Commitment - Equal, Inclusive, Diverse

TKAT is committed to inclusion, diversity and equality of opportunity by encouraging and welcoming differences, listening to individual experiences, aspirations and accomplishments and learning how to grow better together. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of any protected characteristic; this includes applicants wishing to work flexibly.

Access to interview- should you be selected and invited to interview please let us know if you require us to adapt the interview environment. If we can accommodate practical workplace adjustments to assist we will.

Further details about the role

We’re a busy, fast paced team, so you’ll need to hit the ground running! Ideally you’ll be fully AAT qualified together with the practical experience of having worked in a similar role for the last 2 years. This role might be particularly attractive to anyone looking to make a move from practice.

You’ll need confidence in being able to interpret and articulate statutory regulations and internal controls to all levels of the organisation, so great interpersonal skills are a must.

We’ll support your development and give you plenty of opportunities to enhance your skills along the way and you’ll benefit from our flexible home based working pattern from day 1.

Commitment to safeguarding

TKAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment will be subject to the full Safer Recruitment process, including an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
