About Us:

Holy Cross Catholic MAC is a dynamic, forward-thinking multi-academy company located in Coventry and consists of two secondary schools, five primary schools and a central office team, who are dedicated to the academic and personal growth of all our students.

Role Overview:

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Assistant to join our busy central office team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the MAC, processing financial transactions in line with financial regulations, and supporting the financial operations of our schools.

Applications are invited from candidates who have excellent finance, administrative and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail and the dedication and enthusiasm to be part of a thoroughly committed team.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant must be flexible and show initiative with an excellent understanding of processing financial information. Applicants must be computer literate and proficient with the use of Word and Excel.

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide support to the central team and schools with purchase ordering, purchase invoicing, sales invoicing, supplier maintenance and month end/year end procedures.
  • Carry out the monthly reconciliation of credit card transactions.
  • Prepare journals for minor month-end adjustments.
  • Support the annual internal and external audit cycle.
  • Maintain the supplier database.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.
  • Contribute towards the efficient functioning of the MAC central finance service.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar finance role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. AAT) is desirable but not essential.
