Finance Assistant job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Academy as a Finance Assistant. The post-holder will provide financial administrative support to the Business Manager by undertaking transactional accounting and clerical duties using the Academy’s finance system. They will also assist with the administration of the monthly payroll and assist the Business Manager in providing financial support for the Academy.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be resourceful and flexible in their approach to work
- Be able to prioritise workload
- Be a committed team player but also able to work on their own initiative
- have a good academic standard of education, relevant experience and excellent organisational and administration skills including use of IT
- have good communication skills, an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and the ability to think creatively and flexibly are also essential
- Be committed to Quarrydale Academy's ethos of high expectations

Quarrydale is a mixed 11-18 academy of around 1100 pupils, with approximately 130 sixth formers. We are situated in the town of Sutton-in-Ashfield, which is located between Sherwood Forest, the peak district and the City of Nottingham.
Connections to major conurbations in the region are excellent, housing is affordable and access to leisure facilities, and areas of cultural, natural and industrial heritage is good.
The academy itself is a popular and exciting place to work, with a friendly atmosphere and a real sense of team work.
The students are well behaved and Ofsted graded us as ‘Good’ in March 2017.
