FINANCE ASSISTANT job summary

Under the supervision of the Finance Managers, the post holder will provide support to all schools within the Trust and will include:-

  • Maintain accurate and up to date accounts for specific activities such as school trips, including booking transport for trips and analysing relevant data
  • Processes around financial data using the SAGE accounting system (training will be provided)
  • Processing of invoices and allocating appropriate expenditure codes to transactions
  • Supporting the procurement process for goods and services
  • General finance support to the Finance Team

The successful applicant will have excellent administrative and organisation skills and have knowledge using Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook. Working well either as part of a team or independently.

Previous experience of using SAGE would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.

Sandstone Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust with Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College, Weaverham High School, Eaton Primary School, Tarvin Primary School and Kings Moat Community Primary School (from Sept 2026) all being part of the Trust. This role will be split between both Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College and the Trust Central Office.
