Job Purpose:
To provide accurate and efficient financial and administrative support to the Finance Manager to ensure robust financial management and control.
To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the Academy.
Main Responsibilities:
Finance
Raise sales invoices and manage credit control.
Administration of Academy income.
Raise and process purchase orders, match purchase invoices and pay purchase invoices by BACS.
Process other income and expenditure in line with the Academy’s Financial Procedures.
Assist with raising and submitting VAT returns.
Monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions.
Inputting journals as required on the accounting system.
Receiving and checking timesheets of agency staff, inputting on the system and reconciling back to invoices.
Maintain and update the service and supplier contracts register.
Update and maintain the fixed assets register.
Coordinate facility hire activities, draft and issue hire agreements.
Ensure the Academy is retaining all the necessary documentation and evidence for internal and external auditors.
Other
Assist the School Business Manager and the Finance Manager with all aspects of the development and effective operation of the finance function within the School, including the operating and monitoring of school budgets.
To complete the required Safeguarding and Mental Health training.
Any other activity needed by the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Child Protection Officer.
To ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures, relating to child protection, safeguarding, pastoral issues, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection – reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
