What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an experienced School Finance Manager to work closely with the College’s Operations Lead to be responsible for providing the school with the day to day running of all aspects of the financial functions of the College using SIMS, the FMS package and other systems as appropriate.
Duties will include supporting the Operations Lead to prepare school budgets, producing school statistical information, payments, reconciling the bank, income, payroll reconciliation, producing monthly reports and day to day management of the Finance Office.
It is essential that you are IT literate with Excel and Word, have excellent communication and time management skills, be highly organised and accurate and enjoy working with people at all levels. A background of working at a senior financial level with budget management experience is essential. Working with School’s financial and information systems would be advantageous.

The school offers 23 days holiday (plus bank holidays) on appointment, rising by one day a year, up to a maximum of 28 days holiday after five years, a Local Government Pension Scheme and access to the on-site gym and sports facilities outside of school times.
In 2008 we moved into our £24 million pound new school building, which has a wide range of resources. We have an information rich environment, state of the art sporting facilities including a 6 badminton court size sports hall, the latest generation astro turf pitch, our own climbing wall and every student has been issued with an iPad to support their independent learning.
Our College buildings and 10 acres of grounds are used extensively by the community for adult education courses, sporting activities, performances and fund raising activities. Our unique relationship with surrounding primary schools - known as the "Penryn Partnership" - helps primary children to settle in to the college whilst adjusting to their new environment
Further details about the role
This appointment is a full-time permanent position for 52 weeks per year on a Grade I with a salary of £27,386 - £34,965. A grade J (£32,054 - £39,768) would be considered for a candidate with suitable school and financial experience. The starting salary is to be agreed within the range dependant on experience. Applications would also be considered for this role to be part time basis on a minimum of three days a week.

We’re a lively, thriving school, and we pride ourselves on offering the very best for our students. We cater for children and young people aged 11-16 who live in Penryn and the surrounding villages of Constantine, Flushing, Mabe, Mawnan Smith, Mylor, Perranwell and Ponsanooth. Students also join us from Falmouth and other outlying villages and towns. Our PAN (published admission number) for each year group is 210, but the occupational capacity is slightly different for each one. Currently, we are oversubscribed in all year groups. Originally, Penryn College opened in Falmouth in 1957, and was moved to its present site in 1961. Since that time, there has been a programme of continuous improvement and updating of buildings/classrooms. Our biggest development was the opening of our £24 million College building in 2008.
