What skills and experience we're looking for
Our school trust and our teacher training business are growing, and we are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to help us with purchasing and raising invoices.
The role will be part of a growing and diverse team based in an accessible Oldham town centre location within a thriving office of staff who work on partnerships for teacher training and development as well as staff who provide the central functions of a multi academy trust. We can provide training for specific finance systems and in relation to the organisation.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of using computerised packages for financial administration, specifically trained to standard user level in Microsoft excel functions.
- Has excellent communication skills delivering professional, polite, courteous, and efficient customer service.
- Has experience of producing information clearly in a way that can be understood by others.
You don’t have to have worked in education, but your current role, or recent roles will most likely have been in finance or accounts. What matters is that you have good administrative and organisation skills and an eye for detail.
This role is key in our growth strategy, as more schools join our organisation and as we extend our teacher training and development offer, including training existing, and bringing new teachers into the profession across the Northwest of England.
What the school offers its staff
We offer:
- Opportunities for professional development in a growing Trust.
- A supportive team who will work with and alongside you to achieve the very best.
- LGPS career average pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
- Generous holiday entitlement and sick pay scheme, increasing with length of service.
- Central Oldham location with parking and close to good transport networks.

The Cranmer Education Trust’s mission is to be a leader of education and a provider of excellent schools which nurture children and young people and enable all to achieve, progress, and experience success, and to become good people, good neighbours and good citizens whom we are proud to know.
We are a Church of England Trust. Therefore, we serve the whole community. We welcome all schools, both faith-designated or community, who want to go on a journey together to build a great future for children and young people.
Our schools embrace the full age range from nursery to 19. We welcome schools from all phases so that we can continuously improve our offer, particularly on transitions between key stages.
Our nationally accredited Initial Teacher Training arm, Manchester Nexus, trains 70+ (and increasing) new teachers per year, both primary and secondary, so that we have a pipeline of energetic, committed and skilled people for our schools. Training and mentoring new teachers enables our staff to develop professionally and progress in their careers. A growing trust provides further opportunities for career progression and helps us retain our people.
The East Manchester Teaching School Hub is our Trust’s school-led centre of excellence for teacher training and development. The hub provides quality professional development for teachers and leaders at all stages of their careers across the region. Through our hub, we are committed to great teaching, great schools and great leadership for children and young people. We do this through openness and dialogue.
