Finance Officer job summary
We are looking for an Education Finance Officer to join our Central Team. This is a very exciting time to join the Polden Bower & Avalon School Federation, working in partnership with The Bridge School, Sedgemoor.
Minimum 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working All Year Round (AYR). AYR contracts have an annual leave allowance of 28 days, a proportion of which may be taken during term-time.
Contract to commence as soon as possible.
Salary range dependent on experience: Grade 12 - £27,711- £31,067 (37h/w AYR)
The role involves working in a team based at Polden Bower School, responsible for the financial operations of all schools within the Partnership. Travel between various sites may also be required. You will be responsible for day-to-day finance administration including procurement and debtor control, as well as reconciliation and financial reporting for budget holders and Governors etc, to support the Executive Finance Officer in the financial management of all schools within the Partnership.
You must:
- Be motivated, organised, reliable and approachable.
- Have a high level of numeracy, literacy and administrative skills.
- Have a background of working in (or in support of) education finance and ideally with experience of working with SIMS .Net Personnel, SIMS FMS, Access Education Finance (HCSS) and Microsoft 365. Knowledge of Arbor Payments and/or ParentPay may also be beneficial.
- Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, families, multiagencies etc.
- Have a Team-centered work ethic.
- Be able to work with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people.
