Finance Officer job summary

About this Role

Reporting to our Hub Business Manager, we are looking to appoint a dedicated Finance Officer to join our friendly and talented team to help shape our finance services to be as effective and efficient as possible for the benefit of our schools.

Supporting our Weymouth area schools; Beechcroft St Paul's, St John's CE Primary School and St Andrews CE Primary School, the successful candidate will be a key member of the school teams, being responsible for the efficient and timely processing of purchase orders and invoices, and routine monthly reconciliations. You will also support our Hub Business Manager with budgeting and financial reporting. Your main base will be at St Andrews CE Primary School but you will be expected to work at Beechcroft and St Johns on rotation.

You will need:

Maths GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent);

English GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent);

Experience of working in a financial role;

Previous experience of working in a financial capacity within a school environment would be advantageous;

Excellent IT skills;

Friendly with good interpersonal skills;

Have a positive, professional attitude and an excellent telephone manner;

Have good organisational skills;

Be able to prioritise work to meet deadlines;

Have the ability to work on your own initiative in a busy environment;

Willing to learn new skills;

Willingness to support the wider work across the school.

Your working hours would be 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some flexibility around timings. The role requires term-time only working (38 weeks) plus Inset Days (1 week) and 2 weeks during the holidays i.e. 41 weeks per year. Timings and holiday working weeks will be agreed with the Hub Business Manager.
