Finance Officer job summary

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Finance Officer, with good financial acumen, strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and who is confident in communicating with a range of stakeholders.

As the school’s Finance Officer, you will be responsible for ordering & payments on all systems and bank accounts, including the processing of payments, external invoices generation and the sourcing of goods. You will be required to monitor local budgets and report to budget holders and the School Business Manager (SBM) as requested. You will also have the experience and knowledge to prepare monthly financial reports and narratives for the SBM and Principal in compliance with Trust requirements, including statements of income and expenditure.

The role will involve working with another finance administrator, as part of the school’s Finance Team, under the direction of the School Business Manager. You will also work closely with the Trust’s central Finance Team and have a network of colleagues within the school Finance Teams across the Trust.

The successful applicant will have experience of the operation of financial controls and processes; both purchasing and income related. They will be an experienced financial administrator who is confident in managing and prioritising their own workload and that of others.
